What a fantastic time we had last night at the UK Packaging Awards and we were delighted to be winners of the prestigious Consumer Convenience Award.
The industry’s biggest awards event celebrated outstanding packaging in grand style at the Grosvenor House Hotel, in London.
Radio 4’s Alex Horne was host for the evening and trophies were handed to companies and individuals for the best products, services and achievements.
It was with bated breath that we awaited the announcement of the Consumer Convenience Award winner and we could barely contain our joy when we heard “RAP!”.
The judges agreed that MultiRap delivers the ultimate convenience to consumers. Both ergonomic and sustainable, MultiRap is versatile food-to-go packaging for any meal, any time of day.
The features that gained the judges’ approval include:
- Grease-resistant bag with wrap-around cartonboard that prevents leaks and retains heat, enabling easier handling for hot food.
- Products can be served quickly, meaning enhanced customer satisfaction.
- The tear-off opening makes it easy for consumers to eat while on the move.
- Minimal risk of contamination, as the consumer does not have to handle food and can eat straight from the pack.
Our latest innovation, the Freshpack Plus Carton Sandwich Wedge, was also shortlisted in the Best New Concept category. Freshpack Plus combines a simple, clever solution with a unique packaging design. And, while it wasn’t the winner this year, we were pleased to gain the shortlisting ahead of many others.
Excellence in food and drink product development
This follows another award, just last week, in The Café Quality Food Awards which reward excellence in food and drink product development within the thriving multiple and independent café sector. We won the Unique Packaging Solutions award for the Pret a Manger Open Bread Sandwich Box.
And earlier this year, we were delighted to return from the Food Packaging Association (FPA) Awards with the sustainability accolade for our Modified Atmosphere (MA) carton packaging.
The MA technology has been adopted throughout a number of RAP products to help keep food fresher for longer, therefore reducing waste and saving money.
