One of RAP’s latest innovative packaging products AgriRap – a plastic-free sandwich wedge – has received the Best New Concept Award at this year’s UK Packaging Awards.
The award ceremony was organised by Packaging News and took place on Tuesday 30th October, at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London.
The judges of the category said that AgriRap set itself apart because “it addressed the issue of using materials from waste sources as well as providing a design which goes a long way to addressing the current issues around FOTM littering”.

AgriRap was launched earlier this year as part of RAP’s “Removing Avoidable Plastics” campaign which is a direct response to the global plastic pollution crisis.
The sandwich wedge is fully biobased and compostable, and can biodegrade within three to six months in industrial composting facilities.
Graham Williams, CEO, said: “We’re delighted that one of our first newly developed plastic-free products has been recognised by the prestigious UK Packaging Awards.
“The AgriRap provides an environmental saving of 47% when compared to FSC paper-based products on wood fibres, and 29% when compared to recycled paper – which is a fantastic change in the packaging industry.
“We’d like to say congratulations to the other companies that entered, and thank you to the team at the UK Packaging Awards for their continued support.”
Julian Money, founder, added: “It’s fantastic that our efforts to combat the global plastic pollution crisis are being recognised, and awarded.
“I’d like to congratulate the whole team at RAP, and the design team that has made our vision of removing avoidable plastics a reality.
“And, I look forward to many future successes as we continue to make positive changes within the packaging industry.”
