The Background

Founded in 1938 and still owned by the Haseotes family, Cumberland Farms owns and operates convenience stores and petrol stations throughout New England, New York, the Mid-Atlantic states and Florida under the Cumberland Farms, Exxon and Gulf names.

Ranking in the top 50 of the Forbes Private Companies, it employs more than 6,000 people.

The Challenge

With a vision to become the brand of choice for an on-the-go world, Cumberland Farms offers a state-of-the-art shopping experience featuring delicious beverages, snacks and freshly prepared sandwiches.

With more than 600 stores across 11 US states, the company required a food packaging solution that would enable its sandwiches to stay fresh for as long as possible, to account for distribution and time on-shelf.

Added Value

Since adopting RAP’s MA Carton Sandwich Wedge and Softpack packaging solution for subs, Cumberland Farms has been able to extend the shelf life of its sandwiches.

As a result, the company has been able to deliver on its promise to provide its customers with the absolute best possible products, something which has seen the company benefit from a significant uplift in sandwich sales.
